KUMPUL at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026: Indonesian Startups Expand Global Opportunities in Japan

KUMPUL continued its commitment to supporting Indonesian startups on the global stage through its participation at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, held in Tokyo from 27 to 29 April 2026. The initiative was part of the BEKUP Global Scale-Up 2026 program, designed to prepare high potential startups for international market expansion.

Before departing for Japan, KUMPUL and the selected Indonesian startups attended a dinner with Indonesia’s Minister of Creative Economy on 21 April 2026. The gathering served as an introduction and strategic briefing ahead of representing Indonesia at one of Asia’s leading innovation platforms.

On 26 April 2026, the selected startups officially arrived in Tokyo. This year’s delegation included Bell Living Lab, Gapai, IJO, and SPUN.

Building Connections Within Tokyo’s Innovation Ecosystem

On 27 April 2026, the startups began their first day with a series of activities at SusHi Tech Tokyo. The delegation then visited JETRO and participated in Asia MirAI Day, gaining direct exposure to Japan’s startup and innovation ecosystem.

Through these engagements, the founders connected with investors, ecosystem leaders, and industry players while gathering market insights relevant to their international growth strategies.

Strategic Meetings and Business Matching Opportunities

On 28 and 29 April 2026, the delegation continued with strategic meetings, ecosystem visits, and intensive business matching sessions with global stakeholders.

The startups also visited Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Tokyo as part of the broader engagement agenda.

These sessions gave participating startups the opportunity to understand market expectations, strengthen cross border partnerships, and explore long term collaboration opportunities across Asia.
