KUMPUL has received the Best Facilitator recognition at the ESG Award by KEHATI for the second consecutive year. The award was presented on 6 August 2026 in Jakarta, recognising KUMPUL’s role in building an ecosystem that connects entrepreneurs with the resources, networks, and opportunities they need to grow their businesses.
The recognition comes as Indonesia continues to strengthen the link between sustainable investment and tangible impact for communities. The ESG Award by KEHATI is organised by the KEHATI Foundation to recognise organisations and stakeholders that contribute to the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in Indonesia. For KUMPUL, ESG principles need to be translated into practical support that entrepreneurs can use to run their businesses, manage finances, develop products, and make better decisions.
“ESG is no longer simply about meeting the expectations of regulators or investors. It has become a foundation for companies to build resilient, trusted, and relevant businesses for the long term,” said Ongki Kurniawan, Member of the Jury Board for the ESG Award 2026 by KEHATI. “Through the ESG Award, we want to recognise organisations that not only deliver strong business performance, but also demonstrate leadership in creating meaningful impact for the environment, society, and responsible governance.”
Founded in 2015, KUMPUL operates as an ecosystem enabler that facilitates early-stage enterprises through B2G, B2B/CSR, and international donor collaborations. Since 2022, KUMPUL has actively integrated ESG frameworks across initiatives focused on inclusive economic growth, climate-resilient livelihoods, gender equality, and ethical and responsible digital transformation. KUMPUL connects early-stage businesses, MSMEs, communities, corporations, government institutions, investors, and development partners through three main pillars: KUMPUL Ecosystem, KUMPUL Advisory, and KUMPUL Innovation Lab. Together, these pillars cover capacity building, market access, mentorship, business readiness, applied research, and financing connections.
“For us, ESG is not simply a reporting framework, but a way to build an ecosystem where more impact-driven solutions can grow,” said Faye Wongso, Chairperson and Founder of KUMPUL. “KUMPUL has long been known as a Super Connector. We act as a facilitator, incubator, and accelerator, connecting startups and MSMEs with government, corporations, and investors. Our role is to ensure that innovation does not stop at the idea stage, but goes on to create measurable impact for communities and the environment. This recognition validates our belief that cross-sector collaboration is one of the most effective ways to accelerate ESG implementation in Indonesia.”
From 2025 to May 2026, KUMPUL delivered 14 initiatives aligned with ESG principles, focusing on inclusive economic growth, climate-resilient livelihoods, and digital equality. These initiatives reached more than 10,000 beneficiaries through training programmes, masterclasses, and workshops across Indonesia. KUMPUL’s commitment to literacy and knowledge development was also reflected in the publication of seven research reports, including the KUMPUL Impact Report 2025 and a case study on gender-responsive financing.
One of these initiatives is EmPower II, a collaboration between UN Women, the United Nations Environment Programme, and KUMPUL. The programme implemented a de-risking scheme for more than 400 women-led ultra-micro enterprises in East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara, and was subsequently replicated in West Java and East Java to support the adoption of climate-smart technologies. KUMPUL was also directly involved in strengthening the business readiness of three impact-driven startups, Nexmedis, Waterhub, and DoctorTool, which went on to secure more than US$3.3 million in funding.
Looking ahead, KUMPUL aims to strengthen its role as a bridge between impact-driven solutions and impact investment. This role will be developed through further initiatives, including the exploration of catalytic financing schemes and de-risking mechanisms to help entrepreneurs strengthen organisational readiness, reduce risk, and connect with a wider range of funding sources.
The recognition provides KUMPUL with an opportunity to further strengthen cross-sector collaboration and connect more impact investment opportunities with impact-driven solutions. KUMPUL’s experience working with diverse communities and entrepreneurs also creates opportunities for continued learning and the exchange of perspectives, including in advancing social inclusion practices. KUMPUL hopes to continue collaborating and exchanging knowledge with the KEHATI Foundation to advance a more sustainable ESG agenda, while supporting a business ecosystem that benefits communities and contributes to economic development.
