Southeast Asia has emerged as one of the fastest-growing regions for tech startups globally. According to a 2023 report by Startup Genome, the region boasts over 15,000 active startups, with Indonesia and Thailand playing pivotal roles.
Despite this impressive growth, challenges still exist. Startups in the SEA region often face limited cross-border collaboration, restricted global market access, and a lack of multi-sectoral cooperation. Recognizing these challenges, KUMPUL and Techsauce Thailand have forged a strategic partnership to address these gaps and foster more incredible regional innovation.
On January 9th, 2025, KUMPUL and Techsauce solidified their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a dynamic, interconnected startup ecosystem across Indonesia, Thailand, and beyond.
A Partnership that Rooted in Collaboration and Innovation

The MoU between KUMPUL and Techsauce Thailand reflects a shared commitment to promoting cross-border collaboration in the startup ecosystem. By leveraging their strengths, the two organizations aim to establish a strong foundation for fostering innovation and expanding startup opportunities in Indonesia and Thailand.
This includes promoting the partnership through official platforms to raise awareness and engage regional stakeholders. A key focus of the collaboration is facilitating cross-domain partnerships by connecting industrial, academic, and research networks. Both organizations will collaborate to provide startups access to hubs, exchange programs, and business matching opportunities.
Additionally, KUMPUL and Techsauce aim to share valuable insights into local entrepreneurship environments, including investment opportunities and startup programs, enabling entrepreneurs to make informed decisions.
The partnership also prioritizes expanding market access for startups through global programs. This includes arranging inbound and outbound validation trips, introducing potential clients and funders, and creating avenues for startups to engage with multi-stakeholder platforms. These efforts are designed to bridge regional gaps and drive sustained growth in the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem. The MoU was signed by Oranuch “Mimee” Lerdsuwankij, Co-Founder and CEO of Techsauce Thailand, and Faye Wongso, Chairperson of KUMPUL.
Driving Regional Growth Through Strategic Partnerships

In addition to signing an MoU with Techsauce Thailand, KUMPUL also engaged with key stakeholders in Thailand’s tech and innovation ecosystem during their second day in Bangkok on January 10th. These meetings aimed to explore potential collaborations, share insights, and strengthen ties between Indonesia and Thailand.
The day began with a visit to the LINE Incubator Office to learn about tech-driven innovation and startup support programs. This was followed by a visit to the headquarters of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), where discussions focused on Thailand’s government initiatives in digital transformation and the growth of the digital economy. Lastly, KUMPUL visited the Regional Community Forestry Training Center (RECOFTC) to explore community-based forestry programs and sustainable development practices.
