Artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities across Indonesia. From improving how businesses understand their customers to helping startups build smarter products, AI has the potential to support growth in many sectors.
However, access to technology alone is not enough. For AI to create meaningful impact, people and businesses also need the skills, confidence, networks, and practical opportunities to apply it in ways that are relevant to their everyday challenges.
This is where an inclusive AI ecosystem matters.
Moving Beyond AI Awareness
AI adoption is accelerating, but participation remains uneven. Many talents are still looking for opportunities to build relevant capabilities, while MSMEs and startups may face barriers in understanding how AI can support their operations, products, or long-term growth.
The opportunity is not only about creating more AI solutions. It is also about ensuring that more people can take part in the AI economy, regardless of where they are based or what stage they are at in their journey.
KUMPUL and KUMPUL Impact work to connect talent, MSMEs, startups, communities, and industries to innovation opportunities that make AI more practical, accessible, and relevant.
Building Participation from the Ground Up
Through programs delivered across Indonesia, KUMPUL has engaged with thousands of digital talents, MSMEs, and startups. These interactions provide a clearer view of how different communities are learning, adopting, and applying AI in practice.
In 2025 alone, KUMPUL and KUMPUL Impact reached 34 out of 38 provinces in Indonesia, with:
- 7,525 digital talents certified
- 511 MSMEs empowered
- 1,540 startups reached
These numbers reflect more than participation. They represent people and businesses taking steps to build new capabilities, explore technology, and prepare for a changing economy.
Supporting Every Stage of the AI Journey
Building an inclusive AI ecosystem requires support that meets people where they are.
For digital talents, programs such as AI Ignition Indonesia and GENSi help build AI literacy and future-ready capabilities. Through capacity-building initiatives, participants can better understand the role of AI and develop skills that are relevant to emerging opportunities.
For MSMEs, SheHacks and AIM ASEAN support practical technology adoption and business growth. The focus is not simply on introducing AI tools, but on helping entrepreneurs explore how technology can strengthen daily operations, customer engagement, productivity, and decision-making.
For startups, initiatives including Semesta AI, BEKUP, and BSC help accelerate AI-enabled innovation and market readiness. Startups are supported as they refine their solutions, strengthen their business models, and connect with broader market opportunities.
At the same time, KUMPUL continues to work with communities and industries to create wider pathways for technology adoption, collaboration, and innovation.
From Awareness to Application
Across the KUMPUL ecosystem, AI is increasingly moving beyond awareness into application.
Today, 57.5% of deep-tech startups in KUMPUL’s ecosystem are AI-based, while 71% of startups have adopted advanced technologies. More than 14,281 MSMEs have been empowered with AI knowledge, alongside 10,780 individual digital talents.
This growing adoption can be seen across sectors including healthcare, marketing, cybersecurity, manufacturing, and agriculture.
The shift is important. AI becomes more meaningful when it is connected to real needs, whether that means helping a small business improve its operations, enabling a startup to develop a stronger product, or equipping talent with skills for the future of work.
Building an AI Economy That Includes More People
An inclusive AI economy cannot be built by technology alone. It requires collaboration between industry, government, communities, educational institutions, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
KUMPUL and KUMPUL Impact believe that the future of AI should create more pathways for participation. By connecting talent, MSMEs, startups, and communities to the right knowledge, networks, and opportunities, we aim to help ensure that innovation is not limited to a few, but becomes a shared opportunity for many.
