PETRONAS Ventures, in strategic partnership with KUMPUL, concluded the PETRONAS FutureTech 4.0 Global Market Access Program with the signing of seven Memorandums of Understanding between participating startups and Indonesian industry players. Running from early April through May 2026, the program connected startups from across Asia with investors, corporate leaders, and ecosystem stakeholders in Indonesia.
Indonesia was selected as the program destination amid continued growth in its digital economy. In 2025, Indonesia’s digital economy recorded 14 percent growth from its previous US$99 billion gross merchandise value, reinforcing its position as Southeast Asia’s largest digital market. The market environment created opportunities for industrial technology, sustainability, and AI-based solutions introduced through the PETRONAS FutureTech 4.0 cohort.
The cohort featured ASUENE from Japan, a cloud-based carbon accounting platform that supports organizations in measuring and reducing emissions; ENYGMA from Malaysia, an AI platform focused on automated inspections, asset integrity, and digital twin services; and Teamsolve from Singapore, a Knowledge Twin platform designed for industrial and facility management organizations to support incident response and operational efficiency.
Throughout the program, the startups participated in a series of curated engagements designed to support market entry into Indonesia. PETRONAS FutureTech 4.0 facilitated seven online business matching sessions and 42 offline business matching sessions involving 15 industry partners, including Telkomsel, Toyota, Astra, and Maybank alongside other industry stakeholders.
The program also included two expert-led workshops covering Indonesia’s legal and regulatory landscape and the country’s startup ecosystem. Participating founders engaged directly with venture capital representatives from BNI Ventures and BRI Ventures to discuss investment readiness and partnership opportunities.
The initiative concluded with a four-day Validation Trip in Jakarta from 4 to 7 May 2026. The trip opened with a roundtable discussion involving seven partners and nine industry representatives across three themes: business policy, startup ecosystems, and corporate partnerships. The program closed with a Demo Day where the startups presented their solutions to corporate partners, investors, and ecosystem stakeholders. The session created follow-up discussions around pilot projects, strategic collaboration, and investment opportunities.
“This experience really helps me understand the market, the ecosystem, as well as the readiness of the solution and what it takes for us to grow,” said Robin Wong from Teamsolve.
The seven signed MOUs reflected potential next steps toward pilot implementation, long-term partnerships, and future investment as the startups continue expanding into Indonesia. The country’s growing demand for industrial innovation, sustainability solutions, and AI-driven technologies continues to position Indonesia as an important gateway for regional growth across ASEAN.
