KUMPUL Supports the Growth of Indonesia’s Tourism Entrepreneurs through Wonderful Indonesia Scale-up Hub (WISH) 2025

Indonesia’s tourism industry is recovering after the impact of COVID-19. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), tourism added USD 66.5 billion to Indonesia’s economy in 2023, which is 122 percent higher than the average in the pandemic years from 2020 to 2022. However, many small tourism businesses still face problems such as not having enough funding, difficulty using new technology, and trouble reaching more customers.

This program is made to help small tourism businesses all over Indonesia solve their main challenges. The goal is to make sure that more tourism businesses can take part in Indonesia’s recovery and future growth.

Many business owners in tourism need help to get loans, use new technology, and find ways to serve different kinds of travelers, such as those interested in food, wellness, or the sea. The WISH 2025 program focuses on three things:

  • Helping Key Tourism Sectors: WISH 2025 especially supports businesses in food tourism, wellness tourism, and maritime tourism, because these are areas that can grow fast and create new opportunities.
  • Giving Practical Support: Business owners get advice, training, and help to improve how they run their businesses and plan for the future.
  • Connecting with More Customers: The program helps businesses show what they offer to more people, introduces them to business events, and helps them find new customers and investors.

WISH 2025 is a joint effort between KUMPUL, the Ministry of Tourism, business owners, banks, and local communities. Through this program, business owners get ongoing support, chances to learn from others, and opportunities to meet new partners or investors.

As the strategic advisor to the program, KUMPUL is proud to play a role in designing WISH as a national acceleration platform that connecting local tourism businesses to funding, market access, and sustainable growth opportunities.
