Creating a Future Inclusive Ecosystem for Women

In the rapidly evolving digital transformation era, women’s roles in technology and innovation have become more critical than ever. Responding to these challenges and opportunities, SheHacks emerges as a catalyst for change to create an Inclusive Ecosystem for women. This program initiated by Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison in collaboration with KUMPUL, is designed to empower women by providing access to digital skills, intensive training, and opportunities to develop innovative solutions for society. Through activities such as hackathons, workshops, mentoring sessions, and even validation trips abroad, SheHacks serves as a movement to cultivate women leaders in Indonesia’s digital economy.

Tackling Challenges, Delivering Solutions

SheHacks primarily focuses on supporting women startup founders who often face significant hurdles, especially in accessing funding and networks. In Indonesia, gender-based funding gaps remain a critical issue driven by cultural biases and limited access. SheHacks addresses these challenges through integrated training, personalized mentoring, and global opportunities tailored to accelerate the growth of women-led startups. To date, SheHacks has made a remarkable impact on over 34,000 women founders, building an ecosystem that fosters collaboration and sustainability within Indonesia’s women entrepreneurship community.

SheHacks 2024: Pioneering a New Milestone

In 2024, SheHacks engaged 16,541 participants in the Ideation category and registered 485 startups from across Indonesia. The program introduced several groundbreaking initiatives to further strengthen the innovation ecosystem:

• SheConnect Champion: Hosted in 3 cities (Malang, Batam, and Bali) with 212 participants. In each city, 10 women founders presented their ideas, with one idea per city selected as the champion.
• SheHacks Innovate: Held in 5 cities (Sumbawa, Palangka Raya, Pekanbaru, Medan, and Minahasa Utara) with 433 women MSME entrepreneurs participating. Five of the best innovations were selected for mentoring and development.
• SheHacks Ideation: Received 500 proposals from participants completing self-learning and online modules, with the top 5 ideas advancing to the next stage.
• Market Leap Accelerator: Supported 12 selected MVPs through workshops led by five industry experts, focusing on business development and global market expansion strategies.
• Mentoring 1:1 Sessions: Conducted 184 intensive mentoring sessions involving 22 mentors and 22 selected participants from Top MVP, Top Ideation, and Top Innovate categories, offering personalized guidance tailored to each startup’s needs.
• Pilot Projects: 12 MVPs completed pilot projects over 10 weeks, testing their innovative solutions in real markets and achieving validation.
• SheVolunteer Trailblazer Roundtable: Provided insights into markets in 6 Asian and Australian countries across six sessions involving 16 industry experts. This activity offered market exposure and opened expansion opportunities for women founders.
• Sydney Validation Trip: Connected the top 5 MVP startups with over 20 potential partners in Australia, enabling international collaboration, business model validation, and global network expansion.
