Collaborating for Change: From MSME Resilience to Gender Empowerment

May 2025 became a period of active engagement for KUMPUL Impact. Throughout the month, the team joined several national and regional discussions to exchange insights on MSME growth, women’s empowerment, and climate resilience. Each meeting opened space to connect experiences from the ground with data and policy dialogue.

Understanding the Realities of MSMEs

On 15 May 2025, KUMPUL Impact joined the launch of “Striving to Thrive: The State of Indonesian MSMEs 2024/25”, a Barometer Research Report presented in Jakarta.
The session brought together practitioners and policymakers including Dewi Meisari (Tumbu), Nur Hasan (Mastercard), Aria Widyanto (Amartha), and Bintang Ekananda (Alner) to discuss how MSMEs adapt to challenges in digitalization, inclusive finance, and sustainability.
Insights from the discussion highlighted how stronger data and collaboration among stakeholders can shape more responsive support systems for MSMEs as key drivers of local economies.

Reinforcing Gender-Focused Partnerships

On 19 May 2025, KUMPUL Impact joined the High-Level Dinner Meeting with UN Women Regional Director Christine Arab together with leaders from the private sector, development agencies, and civil society.
The conversation focused on advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across the Asia-Pacific region, emphasizing shared responsibility in creating equitable opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
The dialogue reaffirmed the importance of integrating gender perspectives across community and entrepreneurship programs.

Local Voices in Climate and Women’s Empowerment

Representing KUMPUL Impact, Sarita Kinanti spoke at the National Coordination Meeting of EmPower II by UN Women on 21 May 2025 in Jakarta.
She shared experiences from field implementation in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) where women-led, community-based enterprises have been working to strengthen climate resilience and build local green economies.
Her presentation underscored the need for multi-sector partnerships and localized action to ensure that women remain central in addressing climate challenges.
